As part of this project, I was mainly involved in the lighting and interactivity aspect serving as the master electrician and lighting design assistant. My duties ranged from programming cues, effects, and color palettes in an ETC console, to the wiring, the making, and programming of custom light fixtures.

Esperanza
An installation centered on the topic of immigration in 2019 in the US. Portray immigration as a naturally occurring process that should not be limited or restricted for anyone searching for a better life or an escape from danger— just like the Monarch butterfly migrates from Mexico to Canada every year.

We chose origami to symbolize how delicate yet strong butterflies are.

I joined Esperanza as the Creative Lead, lighting designer, scenic designer, as well as the programmer.
The set was made with reused and recyclable materials and features a total of 500 handmade origami butterflies.
Prior to the exhibit, we invited our audience to make their own monarch butterfly with the template above
